Workers Declare State of Alert Against Minister Sturzenegger

Federico Sturzenegger, known for his participation in previous governments, now serves as the Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation in Javier Milei's government. The Internal ATE Trabajo Board has expressed its concern over a supposed audit led by Sturzenegger at the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security (STEySS). This situation has led workers to declare a maximum alert in defense of public policies and jobs.

In a statement, the agency's staff has emphasized that there are no surplus workers, but the lack of public policies is the real problem. They point to an increase in unemployment and informal labor nationwide, while the government seems to focus on stigmatization and layoffs of state employees. Furthermore, they claim that the alleged audit aims to justify mass layoffs and the destruction of the National State.

The Internal ATE-Trabajo Board has expressed its unity in defending all areas, functions, and jobs within the agency. They consider the presence of workers fundamental in the face of the difficult social situation the country is experiencing, in order to counteract any attempts at state dismantling. Sturzenegger's previous management in other state agencies, where numerous layoffs were recorded, generates concern and distrust.

Employees also criticize Sturzenegger's involvement, who has been linked to adjustment policies in various governments, as a judge of public policies and social programs that benefit the most vulnerable sectors. They consider his role as an auditor, amidst the crisis he himself might have contributed to creating, to be an act of malevolence. They demand Sturzenegger's removal from his position as Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation.
